Each child in our care will be given fun teachings based upon their individual learning needs and styles. Meeting each child on their own level helps to create a positive experience in school. Meeting the child at their own developmental level insures that the teachers are fitting the child's needs for learning, not just teaching the child. When learning is fun they will retain more information and want to expand their learning.
Each of the programs offered are designed to help each child's development. Children will be encouraged to explore and develop creativity and self-esteem, which have been proven to help children be successful later in school. Teachers will focus on encouraging and helping children to help foster their creativity and learning by utilizing songs, finger-plays, games, activity and play times to teach and develop their abilities. Learning takes place in a more natural way and at each child's individual pace, so the learning is easy for them and helps them to feel confident about their abilities.
The children in our program will be taught letters and letter sounds with Zoophonics and other methods. The children will be given name cards and see their name displayed in the room to help them recognize their name and others in print. Children in our program will be given kindergarten preparation, and a foundation to take with them to become successful in school. This provides opportunities to further foster their self-esteem and success. Parents will have assessments of their child's progress to let them know in what areas their child is excelling, or needing more work.
Children will focus on building friendships, and how to peacefully resolve conflicts. Children are encouraged to express themselves in appropriate ways, and teachers are always around to help when needed. Each of the rooms are run in similar ways, but are modified to be age appropriate and challenging for the children. All classes have a circle time, and will be utilizing themes to connect the children to curriculum and items of interest in a school setting.
As a staff we want to connect with our parents on a personal level and have a relationship where parents are comfortable talking with the staff. We want to work with the families to create the best possible care for the children, like an extension of your family. Parents are encouraged to communictae when ever possible with teachers and other parents to further enhance our care for all the children at the center.
